Onwards

28 January 2009 - 11:36

The RMXP actually uses a Ruby Scripting System or (RGSS). This scripting system is available for edit as standard and can be accessed by:- Tools -> Script Editor or F11. Here, it is said that any type of function can be programmed according to your liking, including those functions available in RM2k3 but not in RMXP. (Which is why I support RMXP more).

Then, there would be no choice but to learn the scripting system.
To familiarise myself with it, I choose to learn specific functions first.
Some of these tutorials can be found here:-

I think I'll start with "Ccoa's Guide to Windows in RGSS" as it essential for a CMS.

Windowskin Number 55

27 January 2009 - 20:17

I've just came across this nice looking windowskin to be used in my game.
I forgot where did I discovered the windowskin, but it was in a CMS (Custom Menu System) which I saw on Youtube. It was to me a fantastic windowskin. (Picture below) It gives a nice grand look to the borders of the windows. (Message windows etc.)

So, I went hunting for this windowskin. It was very elusive at first, but I found it at:-
http://www.rpg-palace.com/downloads/index.php?cmd=10&page=1 (requires registering)
under the Windowskins Pack. The file name was "55", but I would call it as the "Grand Window".
Before apply:-

Same Menu with Windowskin:-

Applying the windowskin is just a matter of importing the skin through the "Materialbase" function and changing the window skin paramter in the "Database -> System".

The Story Starts...

This would be my first post for this blog. This blog is on my journey in the world of RPG Maker XP.

This is where I will record how my games and made and possibly some tutorials too when I reach a considerably expert level in RMXP.

In fact, I hope to create an RPG where all the cool elements that I've seen or thought of can be implemented into the new game. I havent thought of the title yet but I'll keep posting on the progress.

Let just say that I've just started my journey and so,

LETS GO!
